Rogers Park Golf Club – Get Your Swing On

You’ve requested, I dig it – let’s do it. Newbie’s you gotta try it OR come watch us get it in!  For those of you that swing, a limited number of rental clubs are available. *TIP* If you fly Southwest Airlines, as long as your golf bag is under 50lbs – it can be one of your your 2 FREE checked bags. Activity price will include lunch at the club and golf carts. RSVP required by Friday December 9th.

During the days of segregation Rogers Park was the only picnic area for the African Americans in Tampa.   After church on Sundays many families came to enjoy the swings, slides, baseball diamond, and picnic area.

Mayor Curtis Hixon gave permission to a group of caddies to build a 9 hole golf course. All of the tree removal and shaping was done by hand. Upon its completion in 1952 the Rogers Park Golf Club was born.
